Yellow Cactus Thorns

Close up of the center of a thorny round cactus in the Sydney Botanical Gardens. The symmetry of these plants always draws my attention, but the volcanic rock they use as mulch in the arid garden beds has a tendency to land in the thorns and embed themselves there.
